Visa Information


Entry Visa [D-4-1]

- Most of the language course students can get a six-month visa upon their first arrival.

- Please note that the certificate of admission needed for the D-4-1 type of visa application can be issued to those who register for the regular program 1 year.

- The required documents and period of visa issuance are different from countries. Therefore, applicants must check the information about visa issuance in advance at the Korean Consulate in their residence.

Alien Registration

Required documents
  • 1. Application form
  • 2. passport
  • 3. copy of passport
  • 4. 1 colored photo (3.5cm x 4.5cm)
  • 5. Certificate of Studentship
  • 6. Proof of residence (copy of house contract, proof of residence of school dormitory etc)
  • 7. Fee KRW 30,000 (In cash)
Precautions
  • * Must register within 90 days of arrival (If not, you will be fined)
  • *In case of brief return or travel to your home country during language training, you must keep your alien registration card with you (Please be aware that your depart from Korea or entry to Korea might be restricted and your visa can get invalidated if you do not possess your alien registration card when traveling, depending on nationalities)
  • * If you lose your alien registration card, you must apply for a new card within 14 days.
  • * When returning to your home country after you finish your language training you must submit your alien registration card at the airport.
How to apply
  • 1. Visit Hi Korea website (www.hikorea.go.kr)and make an online reservation.
    * You must make an online reservation before you visit the immigration office.
  • 2. Group application at school

Visa Extension(Permission of Extension of stay)

Required documents
  • 1. Application form
  • 2. Passport
  • 3. Copy of passport
  • 4. Alien registration card
  • 5. Certificate of Studentship
  • 6. Certificate of Payment (of next semester)
  • 7. Certificate of Attendance
  • 8. Proof of residence ((copy of house contract, proof of residence of school dormitory etc)
    ※If the house contract of your current residence is not under your name, you must submit a copy of the contractor's (the person who made the house contract) ID card, and you need to fill out a ‘Confirmation of Accommodation’ form
  • Fee KRW 60,000 (in cash)
Precautions
  • * Application for extension of stay is possible from within 4 months of the expiration date. ( when visiting the immigration office, it is recommended to make a reservation at least I month in advance)
  • * If you extend your visa after the expiration date, you will get fined.
  • * To apply for visa extension, your attendance rate must be over 70%.
How to apply
  • 1. Visit Hi Korea website (www.hikorea.go.kr)and make an online reservation.
    * You must make an online reservation before you visit the immigration office.
  • 2. Online application through Hi Korea website (www.hikorea.go.kr) -> You can apply online only after you join the website.

Change in Residence

- Visit the local Gu or Dong office.

- Required documents

① Alien Registration card ② Copy of housing contract

* Additional documents may be requested on a case-by-case basis.

- Report within 14 days of the change. If not, you will be fined.

Other notes

- Documents to be submitted may differ depending on the individual and circumstances.
- All visa problems caused by the student's low attendance rate and negligence are the responsibility of the student. (Foreign registration and extension of period of stay, etc.
